How Does Installation Work?Installing the HazTracker is a 2-minute straightforward process that requires mounting the device inside the tank using two screws. The installer can use a template to drill two holes in the top of the tank to mount the sensor in the desired location. The sensor is then secured with two screws that thread in from the outside of the tank.
-
Does HazTracker work in cold weather? The HazTracker is certified to operate in temperatures as low as -20°C, but it can effectively function in even colder temperatures, down to -40°C. This ensures that the device can reliably monitor hazardous materials in a wide range of environmental conditions, including cold weather.
-
What are the benefits of the HazTracker? The HazTracker offers several benefits, including the ability to remotely manage field tanks, which eliminates the need for frequent travel. Additionally, the device can accurately measure the volume of chemical dispensed, which speeds up the billing cycle at the end of the month. These benefits can save time and resources for businesses that need to monitor and manage production chemicals in the field.
-
How is the sensor calibrated? The HazTracker sensor is pre-calibrated and ready to be installed. During final installation, you will calibrate the sensor using our installation app. To ensure accurate calibration, we will work with your team prior to installation to walk you through all of the steps and gather all of the necessary information.
-
What happens if the sensor falls into the tank during installation? The HazTracker sensor is designed to be completely hermetically sealed, and is highly resistant to chemicals. In the event that the sensor falls into the tank during installation, the installer can retrieve it from the bottom of the tank - ensuring that they are protected with the proper PPE - rinse it clean, and wipe it to ensure that the sensor is free of debris. The installer can then reinstall the sensor on the top of the tank.
-
Can the HazTracker sensor be used in metal tanks?Yes. The HazTracker can be mounted and threaded into the tank hole. This requires a threaded lid and/or a two inch tank hole. Development of an internal metal tank sensor is currently underway. Please get in touch with us if you are interested in learning more!
-
Does it matter what type of liquid or chemical is in the tank? The HazTracker is fluid-agnostic, which means that it can accurately monitor all types of liquid chemicals, regardless of their transparency, homogeneity, or viscosity. This ensures that the device can provide accurate readings for all chemicals, making it a versatile tool for monitoring hazardous materials in different types of tanks.
